Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk, with its roots at the beginning of the 17th century, has the honour to welcome you to European Business Administration, three years' Bachelor programme addressed to future leaders of the business world.

European Business Administration is a full-time programme lasting 3 years (6 semesters) after which you will be awarded Bachelor's degree. The programme, which consists of 1,780 hours, including lectures, classes, seminars, will offer you the possibility to study the basis of European Culture, Public International Law, Legal System of the European Union, International Economics and International Economic Law, European and International Trade Law and many other fields without which functioning in the European and international business world is not possible. You will have a chance to broaden your knowledge also during numerous optional classes. You are offered over 70 specialized courses.

The experienced staff of 130 academic teachers including also outstanding representatives of the world of science, business, the Bar and other associations guarantees you will acquire solid knowledge in the European and international legal space. Moreover, specialists in economics and management coming from other faculties at the University of Gdańsk will introduce students to the issues of international marketing, including formation of efficient marketing strategies, management, social psychology and many other problems without which plunging into the world of finance is not possible.

Undertaking studies at Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk you will have a chance to deepen your knowledge under the watchful eye of distinguished experts working in well-known European institutions, with which Faculty of Law cooperates within Erasmus Programme. We have concluded contracts about student exchange with, among others: the University of Salzburg (Belgium), the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (France), the University of Toulouse Social Sciences (France), the University of Zaragoza (Spain), the Heinrich Heine University (Germany), the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heildelberg (Germany), the University of Sheffield (Great Britain), the University of Pisa (Italy).

You are probably reading the leaflet and you think how wonderful it would be to study in Gdańsk, but imagine also that.....

If you would like to take advantage of knowledge from experts from all over the world and you would not like to leave Gdańsk, with which you will fall in love, we have offers of foreign law schools at our Faculty. In cooperation with the American institution, Chicago-Kent College of Law, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk set up American Law School, where you can acquire wide information referring to international business transactions. If you think about running a business on the territory of the Commonwealth you will probably choose English and European Law School set up in cooperation with the University of Cambridge. The penetration of French market will be easier after completing French Law School established in cooperation with the University of Toulouse Capitole 1. Finally, the key to success in conquering the German market will be German School of Law, which is the effect of cooperation with the Institute for Ostrecht of the University of Cologne.

We know very well that the student's life does not only mean lectures and seminars. Referring to the ancient Greek ideal, Kalos Kagathos, we have a wide offer for you to participate in the student's life. There are numerous research circles, Club of Student Debates, various sports sections (including karate, aerobics, sailing, tennis, skiing), Academic Horse Riding Club, dancing groups, the university choir that achieves international successes - these are only some of our proposals for you to develop your talent, discover new passions, strike up unusual friendships and gain invaluable experience.

Classes are held in the building of Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk, located in the very centre of one of the most modern European campuses. The Main Library of the University of Gdańsk, regarded as the academic information centre, student hostels, student clubs, the football pitch, tennis courts and many others are situated nearby.

The Faculty has one lecture theatre with 400 seats and three auditoria with 300, 200 and 150 seats respectively. There are also 37 up-to-date lecture halls (with 30 and 60 seats), two courtrooms equipped as the real ones, where simulations of real court trials are held, and the computer laboratory, the museum of criminalistics, the ballistic laboratory, the fitness centre, the restaurant, the coffee house, the newsagents', very good Faculty library, the bookshop and the self-study room. The lecture theatre, the auditoria and the lecture halls are all equipped with modern multimedia.

The building of Faculty of Law and Administration is fully adapted for the disabled. Students can easily reach all lecture halls, auditoria, as well as the rest and refreshment rooms and service outlets. The lecture theatre is equipped with special writing tables for students with motor disability (using wheelchairs). The lifts are adapted for transport of wheelchairs to the highest floors of the building. Numerous facilities help students with auditory impairment (special headphones) and visual impairment (marking in Braille's system, voice messages in lifts). In 2006 Mayor of Gdańsk awarded our Faculty with the title: ‘Friendly Place for the Disabled'.

Gdańsk is the biggest economic, research and cultural centre of Polish Coast, the capital of the urban area with over 2,2 million population in the Pomeranian region, one of the wealthiest regions in Poland according to latest sociological research. Gdańsk has one of the biggest ports on the Baltic Sea, international airport, developed network of railway and road connections. These are great advantages, as when leaving the university you can quickly get to the centre of European events. Remember that Gdańsk is almost the geographical centre of Europe.

The mentioned advantages make Gdańsk one of the most important European business centres. Therefore, you cannot imagine any better place to study European Business Administration.

Gdańsk is also the ideal place to rest. Numerous cultural centres, like multiplexes, theatres, the concern hall, the opera house, the summer music scene, clubs, pubs and discotheques make it impossible to be bored. If you want to escape from the tumult of the town you can get to the charming Old Town streets, which remember the times when Gdańsk was the royal town, or you sit on one of the beaches looking into the horizon.
